Like every orthodontic system, there is no standard time for how long Damon Braces will take to treat your teeth, as every patient is different and will have different needs to one another. However, the length of time it will take can be estimated at a FREE consultation with the Ascent Dental experts once we have assessed your teeth and seen what types of movement is required.

Why would I want Damon braces?

Damon is a fixed brace option designed to tackle more complex cases that require the patient’s bite to be adjusted. This can be for overbites and underbites etc. When straightening teeth, treatment times can take longer if you require your bite to be corrected, as it will need more extensive work to straighten your teeth.

One of the main benefits of the Damon system is the fact they are self-ligating and do not require elastic bands. This means it can be a much more comfortable system as the teeth can move freely without friction, which is quite common with traditional elastic bands.

The other benefit is its effect on your face profile, making you appear younger and more youthful.

What is the process of getting Damon braces?

The first step on your teeth straightening journey is a free consultation with the Ascent Dental Care orthodontists to discuss your case and explore your options. Once you have decided to go ahead with treatment, impressions will be taken of your teeth and sent off to order your custom brace. The next stage will be to fix your brace to your teeth which will then be adjusted every four weeks (give or take).
