Biography
Having trained at Guys Hospital, London, Gursh has completed a two-year training program with the Royal College of Surgeons in Restorative Dentistry. His active role in continuing his studies has kept him abreast of the latest advances in the dental field. Deeply committed to continuing education, Dr Bajwa constantly enhances his knowledge by participating in courses throughout the world.

In the important areas of orthodontics, he has been responsible for numerous treatments since 2003 when he started with fixed braces under the guidance of an orthodontist in the Midlands. He has completed further training in post-graduate courses in Orthodontics with Dr Derek Mahony, an internationally recognised practicing orthodontic consultant renowned for developing dental treatments as part of complete face enhancement.

Gursh has completed a one-year residency program with Dr Mahony in Passive Self Ligating Fixed Orthodontic Appliances as well as Dr Mahony’s three-year Master’s program in Full Face Orthodontics. This is currently being converted to a MClinDent in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics with the BPP university in London. Gursh also completed a residency at Dr Mahony’s orthodontic practice in Sydney in Dec 2010 where he was exposed to over one hundred patients per working day. He has also completed training with Dr Ian Hutchinson – an orthodontist who focuses on lingual braces and has completed numerous Invisalign, Lingual and 6 Month Braces cases.

Gursh visits other countries on a regular basis to gain experience in the latest techniques, as well as attending courses in the UK. He frequently takes part in study groups throughout the West Midlands.

Biography Mandeep qualified from King’s College in London and has worked in general practice since. She especially enjoys aesthetic dentistry, short term orthodontics and is qualified in IV sedation enabling her to provide treatment to very nervous patients.

Mandeep was nominated as Best Young Dentist, Midlands in 2021 and she is focused on continuing to develop herself working alongside our senior clinicians and specialists she enjoys being able to expand her knowledge and experience every single day.

She especially enjoys helping her patients change their smile and giving them their confidence back.

Biography

Shivam is one of our Associate Dentists and he is currently working towards a diploma of membership of the Joint Dental Faculties (MJDF). Having already completed part 1 he is due to complete part 2 by 2022.

Since becoming a dentist Shivam is keen to not only focus on treatment but also to educate his patients in prevention. His aim is to be able improve a persons quality of life by treating dental disease, dental pain and providing cosmetic treatment to give them their perfect smile.

Shivam is keen to keep learning and improve his skills and regularly attends a variety of different courses.

He is one of our most popular clinicians especially with nervous patients, his calming manner ensures even the most nervous patients soon relax in his company.

Biography

Caitlin joined the ascent dental team just over a year ago and is part of our front of house team. She enjoys welcoming patients into the practice and likes to help make the patient journey as enjoyable as possible.

In her spare time she enjoys socialising with family and friends.

Nibras is a highly experienced and accomplished dentist with a diverse range of qualifications and expertise. Graduating in 2000, he has built an extensive career primarily in the private sector, both in the UK and abroad. His practice encompasses general dentistry, with a particular focus on restorative and aesthetic (cosmetic) dentistry, including complex procedures like full mouth rehabilitation and endodontics.

In 2009, Nibras underwent training in dental sedation at Newcastle University, enabling him to provide treatment under intra-venous sedation. He is now a member of the prestigious Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry (SAAD). Furthermore, Nibras is certified as an Invisalign provider and has successfully treated numerous patients with Invisalign, as well as offering Clearcorrect aligners and Spark aligners.

Biography
Since graduation from University of Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2002, Faresh has continued to pursue further training and education, holding a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons and a Diploma in Implant Dentistry with Advanced Certificate in Bone Grafting from the Royal College of Surgeons.

As a co-principle of multiple practices, he has experience in surgical and restorative implantology, sinus augmentation, block bone augmentation and GBR, as well as extensive experience in I.V sedation.

His commitment to the profession is shown by the numerous national and international courses he has attended in Cosmetic, Restorative and Implant dentistry. Faresh has been placing and restoring implants since 2004 and has a wealth of experience in restorative dentistry and dental implantology with a special interest in full arch rehabilitation.

Faresh is also a co – principal of Ascent Dental Care, a small group of private dental practices in the Midlands.

Biography

Jesal was born in Leicester and grew up in Loughborough. In 2007 Jesal accepted an offer to study in the sunny town of Dundee, Scotland.

Jesal has a keen interest in Root Canal Treatments, he enjoys them so much that he is currently undertaking a masters degree (Endodontics MSc) in Root Canal Treatments. Having already gained part one of the prestigious MJDF (Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons England) qualification he is currently completing his final year and working towards part two.

He always strives to deliver high quality patient care with the aid of magnification and treats his endodontic (root canal) patients using a state of the art dental microscope. Jesal also accepts referrals from local general dentists for all aspects of endodontic treatment.

Jesal also enjoys many other aspects of dentistry especially white fillings, veneers, crowns and teeth whitening.

Jesal has had especially good results with anxious patients using his calm nature, excellent listening and communications skills, this makes our nervous patients look forward to their appointments with him.

After studying for her degree in dental technology in Romania for 3 years, Felicia moved to the UK and began her career to become a Dental nurse in 2017. She joined ascent in 2019 and quickly rose to become a valuable member of our team.
Felicia is known for her smiling face and an overwhelming desire to help everybody. And we mean everybody – if she had a magic wand, she says she would literally help everyone in need.

Biography

Following the usual four and a half years of training as undergraduate at Bristol University Dental School Simon graduated in 1993. He then went onto undertake further post-graduate training over the subsequent four years encompassing recognised training posts in general professional training in Southport and Liverpool Dental Hospital.
Further training in Oral Surgery was gained through posts within the specialty of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, notably at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, Russells Hall Hospital and Wolverhampton New Cross Hospital. Simon obtained his Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of surgeons of Edinburgh in 1998.
He has been continuously registered on the UK General Dental Council specialist list for Oral Surgery since 2002.
Simon says his work is overwhelmingly chair-side clinical activity. Alongside working within the Ascent team Simon also has current appointments with the Birmingham Dental Hospital and the University of Birmingham Dental School. He is regularly involved in the clinical supervision of both undergraduate dental students and postgraduate dentists in training.
Simon is a member of the core examiners for the Licence in Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
His routine practice at Ascent Dental Care includes a wide spectrum of Oral surgery undertaken with Local Anaesthetic and Intravenous Sedation.
Simon also has a special interest in the management of Temporo-mandibular dysfunction, working alongside colleagues in Maxillo-facial surgery often employing Botulinum toxin.
Simon accepts referrals from other local Dentists for both oral surgery.

Biography

Charlotte qualified as a dental nurse in 2016 and worked in general practice before joining Ascent Dental Care Tamworth in 2017.

Since joining the team Charlotte has undertaken the role of Orthodontic Department Lead working closely alongside Dr Gursh Bajwa. She has also undertaken further studies, supported by the Practice, including impression taking, sedation nursing and radiography including further training allowing her to take CBCT scans under prescription. Having completed all of this training Charlotte undertook the formal NEBDN qualification in Orthodontic Dental Nursing. We are delighted that Charlottes hard work has enabled her to be accepted onto the Orthodontic Therapist training course and she is now undertaking her formal training to become a qualified orthodontic therapist.

Charlotte says the best part of her role is meeting all of our lovely patients and she especially likes being involved in changing peoples smiles.

Lauren helps all our patients through their personal treatment journey, from start to finish she is there by their side to answer any questions and alleviate any concerns they may have.

You will meet Lauren the first time you come into our clinic and she will take the time to get to know you and fully understand your needs and concerns. This will allow her to make sure the rest of the team are ready to help you in a way that suits you.

Lauren will also make sure you understand your treatment plan fully often bridging the gap that could be left between technical terminology and simple language to aid better understanding.
