Biography
Having trained at Guys Hospital, London, Gursh has completed a two-year training program with the Royal College of Surgeons in Restorative Dentistry. His active role in continuing his studies has kept him abreast of the latest advances in the dental field. Deeply committed to continuing education, Dr Bajwa constantly enhances his knowledge by participating in courses throughout the world.
In the important areas of orthodontics, he has been responsible for numerous treatments since 2003 when he started with fixed braces under the guidance of an orthodontist in the Midlands. He has completed further training in post-graduate courses in Orthodontics with Dr Derek Mahony, an internationally recognised practicing orthodontic consultant renowned for developing dental treatments as part of complete face enhancement.
Gursh has completed a one-year residency program with Dr Mahony in Passive Self Ligating Fixed Orthodontic Appliances as well as Dr Mahony’s three-year Master’s program in Full Face Orthodontics. This is currently being converted to a MClinDent in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics with the BPP university in London. Gursh also completed a residency at Dr Mahony’s orthodontic practice in Sydney in Dec 2010 where he was exposed to over one hundred patients per working day. He has also completed training with Dr Ian Hutchinson – an orthodontist who focuses on lingual braces and has completed numerous Invisalign, Lingual and 6 Month Braces cases.
Gursh visits other countries on a regular basis to gain experience in the latest techniques, as well as attending courses in the UK. He frequently takes part in study groups throughout the West Midlands.
Gursh welcomes referrals from his colleagues for orthodontic treatment.

Biography
Since graduation from University of Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2002, Faresh has continued to pursue further training and education, holding a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons and a Diploma in Implant Dentistry with Advanced Certificate in Bone Grafting from the Royal College of Surgeons.
As a co-principle of multiple practices, he has experience in surgical and restorative implantology, sinus augmentation, block bone augmentation and GBR, as well as extensive experience in I.V sedation.
His commitment to the profession is shown by the numerous national and international courses he has attended in Cosmetic, Restorative and Implant dentistry. Faresh has been placing and restoring implants since 2004 and has a wealth of experience in restorative dentistry and dental implantology with a special interest in full arch rehabilitation.
Faresh is also a co – principal of Ascent Dental Care, a small group of private dental practices in the Midlands.

Dr. Naresh joined Ascent Dental Care in 2022, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge in Oral Surgery, Dental Implantology, Sedation Dentistry, and Restorative Dentistry. With dual undergraduate degrees in Pharmacology and Dentistry, he is committed to continual professional development, enhancing his skills through advanced postgraduate studies.
Dr. Naresh has undergone extensive training at the Aspire Dental Academy, focusing on Advanced Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry as well as Advanced Endodontics. His additional certifications include a PG Certificate in Minor Oral Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons, an MSc in Oral Surgery, and a PG Certificate in Dental Sedation and Pain Management from the Eastman Dental Institute. These qualifications enable him to perform complex extractions and provide conscious sedation, making him an excellent choice for patients with dental anxiety or special care needs.

Biography
Amit Dattani specializes in complex oral surgery and dental implants. He is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery registrar, working both in hospitals and within our dental practices. Amit holds a dental degree (2013) and a medical degree (2019) and has passed prestigious postgraduate surgical exams from the Royal College of Surgeons. He has completed hospital posts in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery across Cardiff, Liverpool, and various hospitals in the West Midlands, as well as gaining international experience in Australia, India, and Cambodia.
Amit has worked as a medical doctor in multiple specialties, including ear, nose, and throat surgery, general surgery, and plastic surgery. He performs head and neck surgeries in hospitals to treat oral and skin cancer, trauma to the face, neck, and jaw, jaw deformities, salivary gland tumours, and complex oral surgeries referred to him. We are privileged to have Amit at The Ascent Dental Group, where he provides complex surgeries to our patients.
Amit has earned 13 prizes and awards and has published numerous scientific articles in national and international journals, along with multiple book chapters.
He mentors both doctors and dentists, holds a diploma in clinical education, and is passionate about sharing his knowledge. He regularly presents his research at international conferences and stays up to date with the latest treatments and guidelines to ensure the highest level of care for his patients.
Currently, Amit is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery registrar in the NHS and serves on a national committee, representing all Maxillofacial Surgery registrars across the UK. He is one of 20 elected members shaping the future of the specialty.
Outside of work, Amit enjoys traveling, reading philosophy, and volunteering annually in developing countries, where he provides free healthcare and performs surgeries for underprivileged communities — work he finds incredibly rewarding.

Biography
Kris graduated from the university of Birmingham in 1997 after winning several undergraduate prizes. He has experience working as a general practitioner and also worked at Birmingham Children’s Hospital as part of the maxillo-facial team.
During this time, he obtained, via examination, Membership in the Faulty of General Dental Practitioners (Royal College of Surgeons London) and a Membership in the Faculty of Dental Surgeons (Royal College of Surgeons Ireland). In 2002, Kris entered three years of full-time formal training culminating in examinations at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh to become a specialist orthodontist.
Kris was successful in obtaining his membership in orthodontics and was also awarded a master’s degree. This provides the recognition that he has followed the highest standard of training possible in orthodontics in the UK. Kris was awarded a Fellowship in Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.

Arjun cares about providing high-quality, modern and comfortable dentistry for every patient he meets. His work spans a wide range of cosmetic, restorative and surgical procedures, allowing his patients to smile confidently, enjoy their favourite foods and feel at ease during visits to the dentist.
At King’s College London Dental Institute, Arjun distinguished himself as President of the King’s College London Dental Society and received multiple accolades, including a prestigious Dental Industry Award.
After graduating, Arjun gained extensive experience working at renowned specialist centres, treating oral cancer, major trauma and severely anxious patients at the Royal London Hospital and Ipswich Hospital. His contributions to peer-reviewed publications, research and conference presentations shaped his compassionate and patient-centred approach to patient care.
In 2023, Arjun was awarded a Chief Dental Officer’s Clinical Fellowship by the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management. As one of only six dentists selected nationally, he collaborated with healthcare leaders to develop strategies for enhancing the quality of patient care across the UK.
Arjun is dedicated to continuing his professional development. Dr Varkha Rattu is a Specialist Periodontist dedicated to helping patients improve and maintain their gum health through advanced, evidence-based care. She has extensive experience managing complex periodontal conditions and is passionate about supporting patients with clear explanations, tailored treatment planning and long-term prevention.
Varkha qualified from Queen Mary University of London in 2018 before undertaking further training in general practice and oral and maxillofacial surgery. During these posts, her commitment to clinical excellence was recognised through several awards. She subsequently completed specialist training in Periodontology at Guy’s Hospital, London, where she treated complex periodontal cases referred from across the region and trained under internationally recognised leaders in the field.
Her clinical practice focuses on the management of periodontitis, mucogingival conditions, peri-implantitis and implants. She provides evidence-based periodontal and implant treatment with an emphasis on helping patients achieve stable, healthy and maintainable outcomes.
Alongside her clinical work, Varkha is actively involved in periodontal research and education. She teaches nationally and internationally, delivering lectures, webinars, workshops and training programmes for hygienists, therapists and dentists. Her teaching focuses on translating current periodontal evidence into practical, clinically relevant guidance that supports the wider dental team in managing periodontal and peri-implant diseases with confidence.
Varkha has a special interest in the relationship between periodontitis and diabetes, with her work winning the British Society of Periodontology Audit Award. James qualified from the University of Leeds in 2014 with merit and awards in Restorative Dentistry and Oral Surgery. He gained his early professional experience in general practice in his hometown of Sutton Coldfield, before completing an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery core training post at Coventry University Hospital. During his time there he gained invaluable surgical experience and completed his Royal College of Surgeons examinations.

Jordan became an integral part of our team in January 2022, taking on the role as a Trainee Dental Nurse. Through dedication and hard work, Jordan qualified as a Dental Nurse in April 2024. Eager to expand her expertise, she has now embarked on a dental sedation course, further enhancing her skills to provide the highest quality care of our patients.
Aside from her dedication to her career, Jordan’s bubbly personality is a breath of fresh air in our practice. Her infectious enthusiasm and positive attitude brighten everyone’s day. She has a remarkable ability to create a warm and friendly atmosphere that instantly puts our patients at ease.

Julian qualified in 1991 from Matthew Boulton Technical College with a BTEC National Diploma in Dental Technology after completing 5 years of training in full service laboratories providing high quality technical dentistry. Having over 25 years of experience as a qualified dental technician, Julian has become a respected technical consultant and technologist to some of the UK leading clinicians. Julian has been actively involved in the postgraduate teaching dentists at the Birmingham Dental Hospital (BDH), Manchester Dental Education Centre (MANDEC), and at the Worcester Royal Hospital.
Julian is constantly continuing to update his learning and embraces all techniques new and old that he feels optimises the end result of the dentures that he constructs.
