Biography
Having trained at Guys Hospital, London, Gursh has completed a two-year training program with the Royal College of Surgeons in Restorative Dentistry. His active role in continuing his studies has kept him abreast of the latest advances in the dental field. Deeply committed to continuing education, Dr Bajwa constantly enhances his knowledge by participating in courses throughout the world.

In the important areas of orthodontics, he has been responsible for numerous treatments since 2003 when he started with fixed braces under the guidance of an orthodontist in the Midlands. He has completed further training in post-graduate courses in Orthodontics with Dr Derek Mahony, an internationally recognised practicing orthodontic consultant renowned for developing dental treatments as part of complete face enhancement.

Gursh has completed a one-year residency program with Dr Mahony in Passive Self Ligating Fixed Orthodontic Appliances as well as Dr Mahony’s three-year Master’s program in Full Face Orthodontics. This is currently being converted to a MClinDent in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics with the BPP university in London. Gursh also completed a residency at Dr Mahony’s orthodontic practice in Sydney in Dec 2010 where he was exposed to over one hundred patients per working day. He has also completed training with Dr Ian Hutchinson – an orthodontist who focuses on lingual braces and has completed numerous Invisalign, Lingual and 6 Month Braces cases.

Gursh visits other countries on a regular basis to gain experience in the latest techniques, as well as attending courses in the UK. He frequently takes part in study groups throughout the West Midlands.

Biography
Since graduation from University of Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2002, Faresh has continued to pursue further training and education, holding a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons and a Diploma in Implant Dentistry with Advanced Certificate in Bone Grafting from the Royal College of Surgeons.

As a co-principle of multiple practices, he has experience in surgical and restorative implantology, sinus augmentation, block bone augmentation and GBR, as well as extensive experience in I.V sedation.

His commitment to the profession is shown by the numerous national and international courses he has attended in Cosmetic, Restorative and Implant dentistry. Faresh has been placing and restoring implants since 2004 and has a wealth of experience in restorative dentistry and dental implantology with a special interest in full arch rehabilitation.

Faresh is also a co – principal of Ascent Dental Care, a small group of private dental practices in the Midlands.

Biography

Following the usual four and a half years of training as undergraduate at Bristol University Dental School Simon graduated in 1993. He then went onto undertake further post-graduate training over the subsequent four years encompassing recognised training posts in general professional training in Southport and Liverpool Dental Hospital.
Further training in Oral Surgery was gained through posts within the specialty of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, notably at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, Russells Hall Hospital and Wolverhampton New Cross Hospital. Simon obtained his Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of surgeons of Edinburgh in 1998.
He has been continuously registered on the UK General Dental Council specialist list for Oral Surgery since 2002.
Simon says his work is overwhelmingly chair-side clinical activity. Alongside working within the Ascent team Simon also has current appointments with the Birmingham Dental Hospital and the University of Birmingham Dental School. He is regularly involved in the clinical supervision of both undergraduate dental students and postgraduate dentists in training.
Simon is a member of the core examiners for the Licence in Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
His routine practice at Ascent Dental Care includes a wide spectrum of Oral surgery undertaken with Local Anaesthetic and Intravenous Sedation.

Mahomed graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2007 and has since been determined to develop his skills and deliver the highest standard of care. In 2008 he was awarded the Diploma of Joint Dental Faculties from The Royal College of Surgeons London (MJDF). His focus has always been on promoting and providing patients with the strongest foundations of oral health, thereafter building and rehabilitating patients’ smile and function. This is where Mahomed’s interest in Periodontology began and in 2009 he began a three-year Masters in Clinical Dentistry in Periodontology at The University of Sheffield, which he gained with Merit in 2012.

Mahomed is recognised by the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Periodontics and has held a variety of positions around the Midlands both in general practice and hospital. He has worked as an Honorary Speciality Doctor at Glenfield Hospital in his hometown of Leicester, as well as a being a Clinical Teacher in Restorative Dentistry at The Charles Clifford Dental Hospital and working in the Periodontology and Restorative Departments.

Mahomed offers his services and specialist expertise in the diagnosis, treatment planning and management of any periodontal problems that patients may suffer from. His aim is to use his extensive periodontal knowledge and skills to establish a healthy periodontal environment, which is conducive to maintaining patients with their natural dentition. Amit is one of just a handful of dentists in the UK qualified to carry out zygomatic surgery, offering life changing options to his patients. He has extensive experience in surgical grafting of bone, plastic surgery of the gums and the provision of teeth on the same day. Laura graduated with honours from Cardiff School of Dentistry in 2015, where she won a scholarship for best student performance. After qualifying Laura gained membership to the Royal College of Surgeons; and she completed two extra years in dental core training. Laura worked as a hospital senior house officer in Oral Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Special Care Dentistry, before settling into general practice. Laura is certified and well practiced in advanced anti-wrinkle and dermal filler treatments, and is an Invisalign provider. She takes a keen interest in cosmetic dentistry, and has completed a year long post graduate certificate in Advanced Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry with Aspire Dental Academy London, with whom she is undertaking a Restorative Diploma. Arjun cares about providing high-quality, modern and comfortable dentistry for every patient he meets. At King’s College London Dental Institute, Arjun distinguished himself as President of the King’s College London Dental Society and received multiple accolades, including a prestigious Dental Industry Award.

After graduating, Arjun gained extensive experience working at renowned specialist centres, treating oral cancer, major trauma and severely anxious patients at the Royal London Hospital and Ipswich Hospital. His contributions to peer-reviewed publications, research and conference presentations shaped his compassionate and patient-centred approach to patient care.

In 2023, Arjun was awarded a Chief Dental Officer’s Clinical Fellowship by the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management. As one of only six dentists selected nationally, he collaborated with healthcare leaders to develop strategies for enhancing the quality of patient care across the UK.

Dr. Viral Chauhan is a dedicated implant dentist with over 10 years of clinical experience, working across the Midlands and Greater London. His focus is on delivering thoughtful, personalised care — from straightforward single-tooth replacements to more complex full-mouth rehabilitation.

James qualified from the University of Leeds in 2014 with merit and awards in Restorative Dentistry and Oral Surgery. He gained his early professional experience in general practice in his hometown of Sutton Coldfield, before completing an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery core training post at Coventry University Hospital. During his time there he gained invaluable surgical experience and completed his Royal College of Surgeons examinations.

I qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2013 with a distinction in restorative dentistry. Whilst at university I took an interest in the field of prosthodontics, winning a number of awards with the British Society of Prosthodontics and the University of Liverpool. I also had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of California in San Francisco, exploring how dentistry is taught in the USA. In 2016 I completed my Royal College of Surgeons Exams in Edinburgh, to gain my Diploma of the Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons.

Alongside offering general dentistry, I have also completed additional training, since 2017, to expand my clinical repertoire. I provide Invisalign orthodontic treatment, dental implants, whitening and composite bonding. Jagbir is one of our general dentists and his warm and empathetic nature makes him popular with anxious and nervous patients.

Jagbir qualified from Universidad Europea de Madrid with a Bachelor’s degree in dentistry in 2017 with Honours in Oral Surgery. Since qualifying, he has undertaken a core training post in Chichester Hospital in the Oral & Maxillofacial department. Here he developed his experience with oral surgery and extractions as well as managing patients with complex medical histories.

Julian qualified in 1991 from Matthew Boulton Technical College with a BTEC National Diploma in Dental Technology after completing 5 years of training in full service laboratories providing high quality technical dentistry. Having over 25 years of experience as a qualified dental technician, Julian has become a respected technical consultant and technologist to some of the UK leading clinicians. Julian has been actively involved in the postgraduate teaching dentists at the Birmingham Dental Hospital (BDH), Manchester Dental Education Centre (MANDEC), and at the Worcester Royal Hospital.

Charlotte qualified as a dental nurse in 2016 and worked in general practice before joining Ascent Dental Care Tamworth in 2017.

Since joining the team Charlotte has undertaken the role of Orthodontic Department Lead working closely alongside Dr Gursh Bajwa. She has also undertaken further studies, supported by the Practice, including impression taking, sedation nursing and radiography including further training allowing her to take CBCT scans under prescription. Having completed all of this training Charlotte undertook the formal NEBDN qualification in Orthodontic Dental Nursing. We are delighted that Charlottes hard work has enabled her to be accepted onto the Orthodontic Therapist training course and she is now undertaking her formal training to become a qualified orthodontic therapist.

Charlotte says the best part of her role is meeting all of our lovely patients and she especially likes being involved in changing peoples smiles.

Jesal was born in Leicester and grew up in Loughborough. In 2007 Jesal accepted an offer to study in the sunny town of Dundee, Scotland.

Jesal has a keen interest in Root Canal Treatments, he enjoys them so much that he is currently undertaking a masters degree (Endodontics MSc) in Root Canal Treatments.

He always strives to deliver high quality patient care with the aid of magnification and treats his endodontic (root canal) patients using a state of the art dental microscope. Jesal also accepts referrals from local general dentists for all aspects of endodontic treatment.
